Church Metrics is designed as a flexible tool for tracking attendance, giving, salvations, and other key ministry metrics. While it does not currently support direct integrations with external platforms like Planning Center or Breeze, it does provide ways to connect or share data through manual exports/imports or the public API.
Obtaining the Church Metrics API Key
The Church Metrics API allows you to connect your data with other systems, build custom integrations, or automate data entry.
How to Access the API
Log in to Church Metrics.
Click your profile icon (top-right).
Select Profile.
Scroll to the bottom to find your API Key and a link to the API Documentation.
Important: Your API key is unique to your account. Do not share it publicly.
Permissions Required
If you don’t see an API key, your role likely does not have the Access API permission.
This permission is usually included in the Admin role, but can also be added to custom roles.
Ask your account Admin to grant the permission if needed.
Can Church Metrics Automatically Sync Data?
Yes — but only with a custom API integration.
✅ Possible if your team has developers who can use the API.
❌ Not supported directly by the Church Metrics support team (we cannot build or troubleshoot custom code for you).
If you don’t have developer resources, you’ll need to rely on:
Manual Input – Enter data each week through the Input tab.
CSV Uploads – Bulk import attendance, giving, or event data from other systems (like Planning Center or Breeze) by formatting files to match the Church Metrics CSV template.
Method | Auto Updates? | Skill Needed | Best For |
API Integration | ✅ Yes | 👨💻 Advanced dev | Automated syncs |
Manual Input | ❌ No | 👤 None | Weekly entry |
CSV Upload | ❌ No | 📝 Basic spreadsheet | Bulk or historical data |
Integrating with Planning Center Online (PCO)
Currently, Church Metrics does not offer direct integration with Planning Center Online (including Check-Ins).
Your Options:
Manual Entry: Enter weekly totals into Church Metrics.
CSV Import: Export attendance or giving data from Planning Center, reformat to the Church Metrics template, and upload it into your account.
Some churches create a weekly CSV workflow (export from PCO → format → CSV import into Church Metrics) as a middle-ground between manual entry and full API development.
Gloo and Church Metrics
There is currently a limited integration with Gloo:
✅ You can quickly open your Gloo account from within the Church Metrics dashboard.
❌ No data sync occurs between Gloo and Church Metrics.
For deeper connections, Gloo supports integrations with other platforms (like Planning Center, Rock RMS, Salesforce). For Church Metrics, the only option is CSV export/import.
