Troubleshooting Contribution and Attendance Entry Errors in Church Metrics
When entering data in Church Metrics, you may occasionally see errors such as “Not all of your data was saved”, notice that your numbers appear doubled in reports, or even encounter a blank Input page. These issues are usually related to formatting, duplicate entries, or account setup. Here’s how to resolve them.
❌ Error: “Not all of your data was saved” Scenario 1
Common Cause
This happens when contribution or attendance numbers are entered with formatting that Church Metrics does not accept.
✅ Correct format:
1000.50
❌ Incorrect formats:
$1000.50
,1,000.00
Church Metrics only accepts plain numbers (no currency symbols, commas, or special characters).
How to Fix
Remove any
$
or other currency symbols.Remove commas or extra formatting.
Enter the value as a plain number (with a decimal point if needed).
Click Save again.
Example:
Entering
1,000.00
→ ❌ Will cause an error.Entering
1000.00
→ ✅ Saves successfully.
📌 Tip: This rule applies to all numeric fields in Church Metrics, not just contributions.
❌ Error: “Not all of your data was saved” Scenario 2
Common Cause
This happens when contribution or attendance numbers are entered in twice, either from multiple people at once, or via the mobile app vs the web app.
When saving data on the Input tab, you may encounter the following error:
The categories that didn't save properly will be marked in red. This is most likely caused by a duplicate entry in your records.
To check for duplicates, go to Your Name -> Admin -> Records. Search for the specific category/campus/date range in question. If you find duplicate or incorrect entries, you can check the box next to them and then click Delete Selected.
📊 Issue: Input Data is Doubled
Common Cause
This occurs when data is entered in more than one service time for the same date. A frequent culprit is the “Other” Service Time, where duplicate values may have been added.
How to Identify and Fix the Issue
Go to the Input tab.
Select the week or date where you see the doubled numbers.
Check for entries in both your regular service time (e.g., “10:30am Service”) and the “Other” Service Time.
Remove the duplicate entries from the “Other” Service Time.
Save your changes.
Re-run your report to confirm the totals are now accurate.
How to Prevent It Happening Again
Communicate with your data entry team to ensure they only use the designated service times.
If you don’t use the “Other” Service Time, consider removing or renaming it in Admin → Service Times to avoid confusion.
📝 Why the Input Page Appears Blank
Common Cause
If your Input page is blank in Church Metrics, it usually means your account setup isn’t complete.
You must have at least one campus and one service time configured in your account before you can enter any data. Without these, the Input page will not display any options.
How to Fix It
Go to the Admin Panel.
Select Campuses and add at least one campus.
Select Service Times and add at least one service time for that campus.
Return to the Input page — you should now be able to select the campus and service time to enter attendance, giving, or other category data.
💡 Tip: If you’ve recently deleted a campus or service time, the Input page may also appear blank until you create new ones.
