Understanding Projections

Updated over 2 months ago

What Are Projections?

Projections in Church Metrics are manually entered numbers that represent your expected attendance, giving, or participation for a specific category, quarter, and year.

  • Projections are not automatically calculated by the system.

  • They are a tool for goal-setting and comparison (actual vs. projected).

  • Once entered, you can view projections in your Reports and compare them against actual results.

This is helpful if you:

  • Want to set ministry goals or targets

  • Need to measure performance against expectations

  • Wish to visualize projected vs. actual data in reports

How to Add Projections

To enter or update projections in Church Metrics:

  1. Go to Admin

    • Click your profile dropdown (top-right corner).

    • Select Admin β†’ Projections.

  2. Choose Projection Details

    • Select the Campus, Quarter, Year, and Category you want to project.

    • Click Input Projections.

  3. Enter Your Projections

    • Manually input your projected numbers for the chosen timeframe.

    • Click Save.

Once entered, projections can be pulled into custom reports to compare actual vs. projected data.

Viewing Projections

  • Projections appear alongside your actual data in reports.

  • In some chart views, you can toggle Include Projections to see comparisons visually.

Removing or Editing Projections

If you need to change or remove projections:

  • Go to Admin β†’ Projections.

  • Locate the quarter, year, and category you want to edit.

  • Update the values or delete them (set to 0).

  • Save your changes.

Summary

  • Projections = manually entered expected numbers.

  • They help track progress and goals.

  • Managed under Admin β†’ Projections.

  • Useful for comparing Actual vs. Projected in Reports and Charts.
