How to set up Categories in Church Metrics

With Church Metrics, you have the ability of creating two types of Categories, Stand Alone Categories and Parent Categories. These options are both effective ways to keep track of important information within your church!

  1. To setup your Categories, head to Admin under your profile dropdown menu, and click Categories on the left-hand navigation.

2. Click Create Category

3. Give your Category a Name, set what Format it will be in (number, decimal, or currency), and add what Kind it will be (attendance, salvations, contributions, other).

4. You also have the option of setting your Category to function as a Parent Category by not assigning it to a Parent Category in the dropdown menu! Once you click Save, you'll be able to enter data for your Category in the input screen.
