Issue
When entering financial data (such as donations or giving totals) in the Church Metrics mobile app, some users may find that their device keyboard only shows a comma ( , ) instead of a decimal point ( . ). This can prevent amounts from being entered correctly, particularly for users in regions where commas are used as decimal separators.
Why This Happens
The Church Metrics mobile app follows the American number format, which uses:
1,200.89 → One thousand two hundred and 89 cents
However, in many countries (such as Germany), phones use the European number format by default:
1.200,89 → One thousand two hundred and 89 cents
This regional difference affects which symbols are shown on your mobile device’s keyboard, especially in numeric fields.
✅ Workarounds
Until the app supports both number formats natively, here are two temporary solutions:
1. Use the Web Version
If possible, enter financial data using the web version of Church Metrics at churchmetrics.com, where the decimal point will display as expected regardless of your region settings.
2. Temporarily Change Your Phone’s Region
Consult with your phone's manufacturer on how to do this.
⚠️ Note: Changing your region may affect how other apps behave while it’s set to the U.S.
💡 Feature Request
We’ve submitted feedback to our development team requesting support for international number formats in the mobile app. While we can’t promise a timeline, this is on our radar for future improvements.
